DAY 1: Jatun Yacu River Rafting (class III) and Camping

Early in the morning, we will drive for 3.5 hours from Quito to the Jungle along a beautiful road that connects the highlands with the Amazon Basin. During the trip, we will see how the climate and ecosystems change in a matter of minutes! Starting from the Inter-Andean valley (9.190 ft/2.800 m), we will reach the Eastern Andes pass (13.120 ft / 4.000 m) and begin descend through the cloud forest to finally get the rainforest.

Once in the Amazon basin, we will start with a short hike and swimming break in the most beautiful natural pools in the Napo Province, then rafting starts in the Jatun Yacu!

Our adventure in the Jatun Yacu River will offer you an unforgettable experience jumping on a raft with us and feeling the adrenaline of running this class III river that reminds you are alive!

The natural beauty you are surrounded in all day from the crystal clear water to the colorful orchids blooming on the mountain sides will leave you in awe. While some parts of the river pump you full of energy, other parts are smooth and relaxing allowing you to float calmly down the river.

After 3 hours full of emotions, we will arrive to our campsite based in a local Kichwa community located in an island called “Shandia”, where we will have the opportunity to know a little more about their culture and customs. That night, we will have a delicious barbecue in the middle of the jungle. (BL/L/D)

DAY 2: Napo River Kayaking (Class II)

This day, we will continue our descent and raft for about 5 more hours until we reach the beautiful little town of Puerto Misahuallí. There, we will have time to see some crazy monkeys and other local charms.

After a well-deserved lunch, we will be amazed by the wildlife of the Jungle! We will have a guided visit to our Aquatic Safari where everyone can enjoy. We start our adventure visiting a beautiful lagoon, where we can see countless birds, some monkeys and other species from a non-motorized canoe.
